Digital Epigraphy and FAIR Data Practices: Community Survey 2026

[Posted in behalf of the senders]

Dear colleagues,

We invite you to participate in the Digital Epigraphy and FAIR Data Practices: Community Survey 2026.

This survey assesses current digital epigraphy practices and identifies ongoing challenges in implementing FAIR principles across epigraphic projects. Your responses will directly inform future tool development and ensure resources address the community’s actual needs and support sustainable, interoperable digital scholarship.

In 2022, we ran a similar survey focusing on Open Science practices and accessibility of resources: you can read that report at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.6610696. This new survey builds on those findings and reflects the rapid developments in the field since then.

The survey will remain open until 10 April 2026. Completion takes approximately 20 minutes. Results will be published as an anonymised report and shared with the epigraphic community. Individual responses will be anonymised; email addresses will not be shared.

Please feel free to share this survey with colleagues working within epigraphy.

For questions, you can contact Petra Heřmánková (petra.hermankova@uni-mainz.de) or the FAIR Epigraphy team (fair.epigraphy@inscriptiones.org).

With best wishes,

The FAIR Epigraphy Team

Petra Heřmánková, Marietta Horster, Jonathan Prag, and Imran Asif
