The Epigraphy of the Aegean Islands: Studying Greek Inscriptions on Paros, 11-24 June 2023

The summer school ‘Epigraphy of the Aegean Islands’ is back for a third year in a row.
Students will have the opportunity to become familiar with the nature of epigraphic documents, will be introduced to the expertise required in the field of Greek epigraphy and will understand how inscriptions are invaluable documents for the knowledge of Ancient History. The course will have a strong on-site element as the students will be asked to study and copy the Ancient Greek texts from the stones kept in the Archaeological museum on Paros. A prior knowledge of Ancient Greek is strongly recommended. Taught by world experts in the field of Greek Epigraphy (see program description www.herc.gr ) it overall a most valuable academic and personal experience (see program highlights www.herc.gr )
